President Edgar Lungu’s pronouncement to recruit 750 extension officers in the
Ministry of Agriculture has cheered graduates in Kasama.
Morgan Siwale 30, a former student from Natural Resources
Development College (NRDC) said the move is long overdue
as it aimed at improving the sector in an interview with
ZANIS toady.
Mr. Siwale said the move will also create job opportunities
for graduates who have been roaming along the streets.
He noted that Agriculture sector plays a vital role in securing
the national food basket hence the need to have more
workers.
And Winfred Musonda a former student from Mpika College
of Agriculture stressed the need for government to continue
recruiting extension officers to increase the workforce in the
agriculture sector.
Ms. Musonda, completed her studies 6 years ago and has
not been employed said the move will give an opportunity
for graduates to be employed.
She appealed to government to consider recruiting females
when the exercise commences.
