Call for applications: Cholera pandemic writing competition for children | WestMac Media

The Cholera epidemic rocked the nation others lost their lives from a disease that we can prevent. Against this, Ndola City Council (NCC) has learnt that the lack of the necessary knowledge to prevent this disease from spreading such as ensuring maximum cleanliness and order placed the country in the state it was... Little laws like do not litter, wash your hands or do not defect in water bodies led to the epidemic. It is for this reason NCC want to inspire a self know through a composition writing competition for children. 

The topic of the competition is, “What is Cholera; it's causes and prevention”. 

Applicants will be judged on their understanding of the disease, grammar and most importantly creative component. 

Bonus will be given to individuals who will attach illustrations in flow diagrams, pictures e.t.c 

ELIGIBILITY: 

• Any pupils in Ndola who are currently in school and in Grades as young as 1 to Grade 12;

• Applicants can send their applications to the Ndola City Council Facebook page or email them to tilyenji.mwanza@gmail.com.

SELECTION: 

• The Judges will select the best 3 applications and paste them on the Council page the winner will be selected by the Public by seeing which post generates most likes. 

BENEFITS: 

• The winner will get an assortment of school supplies worth K1000 and get to be Junior Mayor for the day. 

DURATION: 

• Applications are welcome from 2nd February, 2018 to 23rd February, 2018;

• The three nominees will be posted on 26th February and the winner will be picked 28th February, 2018. 

WORD LIMIT: 

• Not more than 400 words. 

NB: NCC welcome anyone: company or individual who would like to amplify the package to the winners.
