National Breweries Plc is Zambia’s leading producer and
distributor of Traditional African beer. The Company offers

The company is therefore inviting applications to fill the following
vacant positions: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT x 2
Contract: Permanent
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the successful candidates will be accountable for the following:
• Ensure pay roll in puts are prepared accurate for
processing;
• Ensure that reports are received and verified;
• Ensure queries are attended to promptly and loans and
advances paid in time;
• Ensure pay as you earn (PAYE) are remitted to ZRA and
NAPSA deductions remitted timeously;
• Ensure union dues are paid and accounts reconciliations
are done timeously;
• Ensure invoices are received from stores and matched with
standing order and sent to the heads of departments for
approval. Ensure invoices are sent for payment;
• Ensure cheques are counter-checked with invoices and
accounts are reconciled;
• Ensure that fixed assets ledger are up-dated every month;
• Ensure that all CAPEX forms are completed correctly and
approved accordingly;
• Support in risk management through insurance policy
reviews and ensure appropriate insurance cover for all
company assets;
• Ensure that other statutory obligation such corporate tax,
VAT are submitted on time and in full;
• Balance sheet management and all reconciliation
performed on time and in full;
• Vendor accounts are properly managed and recoveries are
done for any overdue expense returns;
• Accruing/providing for unprocessed invoices/expenses at
the end of each month to ensure expenses and liabilities are
recorded in the correct accounting period;
• Undertake any other tasks as directed by the Financial
Accountant.
This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the
following minimum requirements:
• Grade 12 certificate with Minimum 5 credits;
• AAT/ ACCA Certificate stage;
• Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
(ZICA);
• At least 2 to 3 years’ experience;
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention
to detail;
• Strong numerical skills and should be computer literate.
