Deadline: 14th February, 2018
BACKGROUND:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Africa Trust (previously known as the Southern African AIDS Trust) through its signature Regional Youth Hub Programme (SAT4YOUTH) aims to bring together young people across Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) to provide leadership and advocacy on SRHR.
This year, SAT will launch its inaugural #SAT4YOUTH SRHR Youth Leadership Programme which will be held 24th February – 2nd March 2018 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The programme aims to;
Begin a youth quake - powerful movement of dynamic and influential young leaders involved in and passionate about SRHR, particularly, Sustainable Goals 3, 4, 5 (good health, education and gender equality), Agenda 2063. #TheGirlPlan
Equip young leaders with essential skills (professional development linked to policy influence, advocacy and communications) to spearhead SAT’s Regional Youth Hubs, replicate training (mentor other youth) and advocate on pressing SRHR issues in their contexts and at a regional/global level.
Build sustainable cycles of leadership and capacity building whereby present cohorts are considered to be experts on SRHR and mentor/ train future cohorts of young advocates.
Furthermore, programme outcomes are premised on four key pillars proven in various fields to embolden youth to take the reins on critical SDG, Agenda 2063 and SRHR issues, namely;
