Part 4: Fragile Heart

By Winston Muleba II
“You know what mwishikulu wandi (granddaughter), in this world you must learn to be transparent .Yesterday there was a lady who came here to shout at me. She bitterly shouted at me and charged that you are dating her husband Mr. Tembo, a Lecturer at one of the Colleges. She complained that ever since you started dating her husband, their marriage has not been stable. Sure my granddaughter, why date a man when you have Mulenga as your loving and caring man?” narrated my Grandmother.

Part 3: Fragile Heart

By Winston Muleba II
“Yes Mutinta, how are you?” Mr. Tembo greeted me once more.

‘I am ok, how are you too?' I replied.

“How much is the taxi fare?” he asked.

‘He charged me K30 but after we went past the other guest house, he added a K20, so it’s K50,” I narrated to Mr. Tembo.

“Ok. Here you are, give him,” Mr. Tembo gave the money to give a Taxi driver.

He bought some condoms at the reception as we proceeded to a room he booked. However, I resisted going into a room but eventually accepted and entered.

Part 2: Fragile Heart

By Winston Muleba II
‘What do you mean? We are just the two of us here by the river, are you shy? I enjoyed a kiss; kiss me once more,’ I said. “Awe naiwe (nope), I don’t mean to hurt your feelings. Let’s just talk about our life experiences. I guess its high time time we started to know each other well,” Mulenga suggested.

‘Well, if you say so, I can’t force you. Moreover, I shouldn’t have come out so direct about the kiss thing. Hope taumbwenenemo (you’ve not looked down on me). Have you? I don’t know what came over me anyway. Bear with me, I guess it’s normal,’ I said.

3 ways to engage, empower and activate environmentally minded youth

By Philippe Cousteau
Problem solving. From games and mystery novels to space exploration and medical science, problem solving is something we humans do, and in many cases we do it very well. When it comes to the problems facing our environment, however, there seems to be a glitch in this fundamental human skill set. While some progress is being made, we often can’t seem to move past the seemingly endless barriers, real or perceived, to solutions and actions that will result in a healthier environment for all of us who call this planet home.

We are stuck in a seemingly endless cycle of trying the same approaches. As the impacts of climate change, pollution and degraded natural resources become more evident with every passing year, the stakes of continued inaction couldn’t be higher; we can’t afford to be stuck.
