The South Africa's newly appointed Minister of State Security Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba is a former pupil of Luanshya Girls High School.
Ms Letsatsi-Duba was born and raised in Gauteng.
She completed her secondary
education at Luanshya Girls' High
School in Zambia and completed a
Diploma in Political Science in Cuba
in 1987.
She has also completed a
Diploma in Mass Communication
from Zimbabwe Harare Polytech.
In 1982,
Ms Letsatsi-Duba went into exile to join the ANC and Umkhonto we Sizwe.
She also worked as the editor in chief of
Voice of Women (ANC Women’s
Journal) and as a Media Liaison
Officer in the ANC Headquarters
(Shell House) from 1992 to 1994.
In
2007, Ms Letsatsi-Duba was elected to serve the
Provincial Executive Committee and
as Provincial Treasurer of the ANC in
2008.
She previously served as a
Member of the Limpopo Legislature
and MEC for Agriculture and, prior to
her appointment to the National
Executive, as Chairperson of the
Portfolio Committee on Public
Enterprises.
Meanwhile, Ms Letsatsi-Duba is currently serving as the State Security Minister, after
having served as the Deputy Minister
of Public Service and Administration.
