Ndola City Council (NCC) was running a Cholera essay writing
competition that targeted all the schools in Ndola and Masala Secondary pupil has scooped the grand prize.
The
Local authority came up with a Cholera writing
competition to gauge the knowledge of pupils about the
disease that recently hit the country.
NCC found it fit to host a writing competition to
push a sentization campaign on the disease that can
partially be eliminated via education.
The council public relations department states that the council is proud to announce that the response was overwhelming with hundreds of entrants, judges had a
tough in coming up with the best essays, however, the
three best stories where posted on the councils
Facebook page.
“We wish to officially announce that the
winner of the competition is Masala Secondary School
story written by Kangwa Eloya Machacha, a Grade 11
pupil after getting the most likes. The winner of the
competition will get a school hamper worth K1000 and
would be junior mayor for the day,” the council states.
