Country's women trailblazers honored at 'Zambian Women of the Year Awards' | WestMac Media

The 'Zambian Women of the Year Awards' ceremony that was scheduled for March took place last night at Lusaka's Government Complex and deserving women from all walks of life were announced as winners. 

These yearly awards are centered on celebrating women that are using their platforms to improve the lives of women everywhere. 

The ceremony was hosted by the Founder Karen Nakawala. The trailblazers and icons who were honored and received awards included:- 

1. Cultural Ambassador Award – Mulenga Kapwepwe. 

2. Rising Star Award – Mwaka Mugala. 

3. Woman of the Year Award – Dolika Banda. 

4. Healthcare Champion Award – Selina Lukonga. 

5. Author Award – Ingrid Nayame. 

6. Entrepreneur Award – Susan Mwenda Mulongoti. 

7. Educator Award – Franchesca Mulenga 

8. Humanitarian Award – Rosemary Mumba. 

9. Digital Award – Brenda Nglazi Zulu. 

10. Media Ambassador Award – Zarina Geloo. 

11. Mentorship Award – Gladys Paswani. 

12. Woman in Film Award – Becky Ngoma. 

13. Creative Award – Cathy Phiri. 14. Community Service Award – Ruth Chikasa. 

15. Songbird Award – Theresa Ng’ambi. 

16. Activist Award – Laura Miti. 

17. Lifetime Achievement Award – Alice Chali. 

18. Special Award – Chilufya Mwaba Phiri. 

19. Emerging Young Leader of the Year Award – Bernadette Deka. 

20. Sports Woman of the Year Award – Tilka Paljk.
