KCC to engage the Ministry of Lands for excision of 2000 hectares for the creation of low cost plots for the poor | WestMac Media

Govt to effect issuance of digital NRCs first quarter of 2018 | WestMac Media

Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed that it will start the issuance exercise of the digital National Registration Cards (NRCs) in the first quarter of 2018. 

Confirming the development, National Registration and Passport Department Registrar General, Mathews Nyirongo says Government has since purchased the equipment which will be used to process digital cards valued at 3.1 million Euros from German.

Severe sickle cell crisis prompts 15-year-old Zambian to start an awareness initiative | WestMac Media

A 15-year-old Mwenda Phiri has started the Mwenda Phiri Initiative (MPI) in service of child health to raise awareness and funds for paediatric haematology and ICU in Africa after he experienced a severe sickle cell crisis on 18th October, 2017 following minor surgery that resulted in Acute Chest Syndrome that put him in ICU for 8 days.

8 Apex University students completely lose belongings as fire guts Chikuni Hospital hostel | WestMac Media

Students from Apex University have lost their belongings after a hostel which was harboring them at Chikuni Mission Hospital in Monze District caught fire yesterday. 

The fire is believed to have started around 16hrs in one of the rooms where the service cable is connected to and later spread to another.
