This Invitation tor applications follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business (UNDB) online
and the African Development Bank Group’s website on 27th January 2015 and in the local print media.
The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received a loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) towards the cost of implementation of the Support to Science and Technology Education Project (SSTEP). It is intended that part
of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the bursary award tor craft and trade test certificates in the five trades training institutes under the
Project.
The Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Ministry of Higher Education, now invites applications from
eligible and qualified school leavers/youths who wish to pursue skills at craft and trade certificate levels to apply to
the address below.

The scholarship/bursary shall cover the cost or tuition, lodging and examination fees at both craft and trade test levels.
Eligibility of Candidates
a. Must be Zambian and in possession of a green National Registration Card
b. Must possess:
• A Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent for Craft Certificate Level
• A Grade 9 Certificate or Trade Certificate for Trade Test Level
c. Should possess letter from Community Social Welfare Department showing vulnerability d. Must not be on any other bursary.
Please note that only eligible applicants shall be sponsored under this programrne and are expected to attach documents that meet the eligibility criteria above.
Applicants must note that selection will be based on the available places in the five training institutions and that the Ministry’s decision will be final.
Applicants should indicate clearly the institution they wish to study from and the course they wish to undertake.
Females are highly encouraged to apply.
Applications should be submitted to the Ministry and dropped in the Tender Box at the entrance or Maxwell House, Los Angeles Boulevard, Longacres, Lusaka, and at any of the Beneficiary Institutions stated above (Example, if you stay in Choma and you wish to study at
Lukashya in Kasama, submit your application at Trades Training Institute).
