Zambia Medical Association (ZMA) has awarded Lusaka based singer popularly known as Danny 'Kaya' for his contribution to the fight against HIV/AIDS through his music.
Kaya hit maker and real name Danny Siulapwa has on several counts produced educative songs such as Joni, Live and the recent hit titled Naina Manje that alludes to the fight against the pandemic.
ZMA noticed that over years, Danny
has made important strides in the fight against HIV/AIDS by producing outstanding, encouraging and educative songs.
And upon receiving the awards Danny said he was humbled for the recognition.
“I never saw this coming. To be recognized and awarded by the Zambia Medical Association because of the influence my music has had in the fight against HIV and
AIDS,” he said.
He received the award at the Annual Gala and Awards Ceremony held on the 15th December, 2017.
The Zambia Medical Association annually
honors health workers, media practitioners and people from all walks of life who have contributed to raising awareness on HIV/AIDS. This year, they have added music to the list
and the legend Danny happens to be the recipient of the Artist Award.
Meanwhile, B'flow real name Brian Bwembya said Danny deserved the award.
“This man deserves to be celebrated and
honored every year because modern day Zambian music would be meaningless without his contribution. I have personally been inspired by his work and I'm still his biggest fan. We celebrate you Danny Shiniza Siulapwa,” he said.
