On Friday, Zoona announced the appointment of its new Managing Director, Mrs. Misozi Mkandawire-Bukali.
Until her
appointment, Mrs. Mkandawire-Bukali was one of Zoona’s
top performing agents in Lusaka.
She takes over from Mr.
Robert Keating who had served as Zoona MD for the past 2
years.
In 2010, Misozi started her very first job as a Zoona
sales employee.
Two years later she decided to try her hand at
entrepreneurship, and opened her very first outlet on Cairo
Road in Lusaka, and worked her way towards her ambitions.
She decided to invest more money into her own growth and
expansion, and over the course of five years, expanded
from one to 27 outlets and employs 43 people.
In 2017, Zoona approached Misozi and offered her a
position as the Managing Director of Zoona Zambia, and
after seeing the positive impact that Zoona has had on some
of her own employees, Misozi gladly accepted.
Her
experience as a former Agent will be invaluable to the Zoona
mission to help communities thrive and spread financial
inclusion where it is needed most.
What a time for the girl
child to be inspired.
This announcement illustrates Zoona’s continuing
commitment towards empowering Zambian entrepreneurs
and helping communities thrive.
