A group of 26 youths comprising of 12 Males and 14 Females
have successfully completed another ReadyToWork training
programme offered by the Zambia Development Agency in
partnership with Barclays Bank Zambia.
The training programme ran from 06th to 08th November at
Mika Convention Centre in Chongwe.
The Ready To Work training programs are meant to prepare
youths from tertiary institutions to enhance their
employability and entrepreneurial skills.
After issuing their certificates of attendance, ZDA Enterprise
Development Director Mukula Makasa urged the youths to
go out and practice the skills and good practices they have
acquired.
The youths expressed gratitude to the ZDA and Barclays for
empowering them with useful information.
The Ready To Work training is based on four main modules
designed to help graduates from tertiary to transition from
the world of education to the world of work.
The trainings
are based four modules which are work skills, people skills,
money skills and entrepreneurial skills.
The work skills module covers important aspects such as the
criteria to assists in setting out to find a dream job.
It also provides insight into the work skills and tools one
needs to prepare for job applications and teaches how to act
in an interview and how to behave in a business
environment.
The money skill module focuses on helping an individual on
how to budget their money, how to ensure the budget
enables them to achieve their goals and information about
how using credit can work for well.
The people skills emphasizes on the skills an individual
needs to work well with others in the workplace by
understanding, applying and improving their people skills. It
also covers insights into applying effective workplace
communication skills and teaches how to use emotional
intelligence to manage emotional reactions.
And the Entrepreneurial Skills helps the graduates with skills
they need to start, set up, and grow a business.
Among the major issues covered in this module include
things to consider when choosing to be self-employed, how
to research key information regarding your marketplace and
all the all areas required when you choose to start, set up
and grow your own business.
