Computer Science students of the Copperbelt University have falsely been applauded and accused of having programmed a computer virus being referred to as shetamosis.
The called shetamosis virus is trending in public domain in many parts of the Copperbelt especially Kitwe and Chingola.
The virus is converting computer files to a zero kilo byte (0 kb) size.
The virus is believed to have been programmed by a team of CBU computer science students.
And most of the computer users whose systems have been infected have no kind words for the students in question.
However, CBU students are not responsible for the said virus and it is not technically called shetamosis.
The trending virus is a malicious trojan normally generated from the internet especially via spam emails, pop-up adverts and pornography websites.
Internet users spread the virus when transferring data to and from infected flash disks and memory cards.
