The 4th Annual Women4Africa Awards in association with Lebara took place on 9th May, 2015. Dubbed by the commonwealth
as 'The largest gathering of African women in Europe' with guests having flown in from Nigeria. Ghana, South Africa, United States, Somalia, Zambia etc it promises to be a night of celebration and elevation.
Women4Africa officially awarded Buumba Malambo and others in the following respective categories; Author of the year, Media personality of the year, career woman of the year, humanitarian of the year to mention a few.
Women4africa is a UK registered organisation focused on celebrating and empowering Africa and its women by
supporting and celebrating their role in their communities via Conferences, supporting education and Awarding prestigious awards, recognitions and special honours on such women identified and nominated by the
public.
In a category tightly contested by Christine du Preez of South Africa, Magret
Makwena Modiba of South Africa and. Tintswalo Grace Mobasa of South Africa, a young Buumba Malambo from Zambia scooped the “International Community Workers Recognition Award” making her the first and youngest Zambian to have won this award in history.
Malambo is the Founding Director of Buumbalambo Foundation for Children in need.
Reacting to this international recognition, Malambo said she is so humbled and honored to be the youngest award winner in her category.
“I'm so humbled and honored to be the youngest award winner last night,the youngest in my category and the youngest Zambian to have won this award from the time the Women4Africa awards programme began,” she said.
She has also encouraged other young women that they can also do it.
“I have broken history and am saying yes young women from every corner
of Africa can make it,” said Malambo.
Malambo added, “It takes the whole village to raise a child,and the child
should be willing to learn the wisdom and the secrets of success from those that where there before.”
“To all those that nominated me, our supporters, the sponsors, my family and
my manager this is for you. Matthew 6:33 - But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34" So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own,” she said.
