A Lusaka based author, motivation speaker and entrepreneur, Mubita Nawa has urged
people to invest their money into a solution based thinking.
“If some people can stop going to school and just invest their money into a solution based thinking they will be more successful,” he says.
He says an MBA (on average) costs K50,000.00 in Zambia to complete (It can double or triple depending on where you
go).
“ Some people already have a degree, a diploma and an MBA. But they are still in school. When is school ever enough?” Nawa questions.
Nawa says in his view economies in Africa are more focused on producing graduates than on finding solutions to social and economic challenges.
“ Its great to be educated. Its great
to have degrees upon degrees. But while some spend more money proving to people how educated they are, others are
spending their energy creating future wealth that no amount of education or lack thereof can ever take away,” he says.
He adds, “ if you are on your diploma, or first degree, I say go for it. But you also need experience.”
Nawa further explains that there is nothing wrong with education but we need to ensure that we produce graduates who improve our lives and who add value to the economy (by solving problems) rather than people who actually only go to school so they can get promoted. After promotion then what? Another degree?
