PF Youths Representative Max Chungu says there is need for all Lusaka based firms and residents to get involved in efforts aimed at cleaning the city to help reclaim the status of: “ The Golden City.”
Chungu explained that the youthful residents especially need to expend their energies in contributing meaningfully to cleaning up the City as part of their contributions to national development.
Mr. Chungu said leaving the cleaning of the City to LCC alone will not achieve desired results due to constraints the local authority is facing.
The PF youths started the cleaning exercise from Northmead Total Filling Station and covered businesses around Melisa Shopping Mall.
The exercise will be routine venture and will soon spread to other areas.
With an ever increasing population in the Capital and limited resources, the Lusaka City Council faces mountains of challenges of cleaning the City to the expected standards.
Mountains of uncollected garbage and worn public buildings and stores especially in main business district are an eyesore to both the local authorities and concerned residents , alike. LT
