Government says over seven thousand girls have gone back to school after falling pregnant and delivering from May
2014 to date.
Education Deputy Minister David Mabumba says the re-entry policy has received an overwhelming response from stakeholders and parents who are encouraging their children to get back into school after delivering.
Mr Mabumba says government attaches great importance to the future of the girl child.
Mr. Mabumba explains that the re-entry policy does not segregate regardless of a girl’s status in society.
Last year about fourteen thousand girls dropped out of school in the country after falling pregnant.
