Who accredit licenses to tertiary institutions, for them to operate as learning institutions? I believe its the highest and equal employer of citizens of the land, the “government”.
Having interacted with different human resources
practitioners from both private and public service, on
several counts they emphasize that some named Colleges
including Universities are just business ventures meaning
their papers carry little or no value in public service even in
private service. This is to say some institutions are below
Standard.
In Lusaka, Copperbelt and other provinces there are a lot
Colleges, Academies, Institutes and Universities, some which
even offer Masters degree but their graduates are rejected
even in small start up enterprises.
Tarvens, Houses turned tertiary institutions are everywhere
and thats development in some ways anyyway. However do these
institutions meet the environment, health, hygiene and
sanitation statutes of the land? I strongly doubt!
Honestly, I find it shocking and misleading when I find unqualified teacher and lecturers taking students in some courses in various
colleges especially, this also happens in primary schools located in rural areas.
Be it College/University student, secondary or primary pupil, we deserve standard education.
Where are the Education Inspectors? Why should people
spends years in Colleges/Universities not recognized by
employers yet they are accredited by government?
Alluding to this, some graduates from named institutions are
fast recognized when they use their grade 12 certificates as
their highest paper.
Some people have stayed for many years without formal
jobs not that employers are corrupts but their previous
Colleges/Universities are of no value in the corporate world.
