Young Zambians, Brighton Kaoma, Buumba Malambo and Regina Mtonga were last evening presented with the first ever Queen’s young leaders award by Queen Elizabeth II at a special ceremony held at Buckingham palace in London.
Kaoma is the Co-Founder of Agents Of Change Foundation Zambia and his counterparts Malambo and Mtonga, the former is the Founder of Buumbalambo Foundation Children for the need and the latter is the Co-Founder Of Asikana Network respectively.
The young Zambians mentioned above were among the 60 young people from the Commonwealth who were awarded by the Queen for taking the lead in transforming the lives of others in their respective communities.

The Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent all
joined the Queen in congratulating the winners last night.
Members of the royal family and a host of high profile individuals praised young people for making a lasting change in their communities and across the Commonwealth.
At the same event, former England Football Team Captain David Beckham and Sir John Major, Chairman of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, spoke to the awardees about the future of the Commonwealth and the importance
of good leadership.

The young leaders programme was established by the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust in partnership with
Comic Relief and the Royal Commonwealth Society in honour of the Queen’s 60 years of service to the Commonwealth at the time of her Diamond Jubilee.
The goal of the programme is to enable young people to step up as leaders and improve the lives of people across
