Copperbelt University (CBU) students 'black monday' protest has ignited a riot and over 50 students have been arrested and 4 admitted at Kitwe Central Hospital so far.
The arrested students are in custody at Nkana East, Ndeke and Riverside Police.

By press time, WM Media confirmed that some rooms were broken by the police in an effort to nab students and atleast 50 students were recorded arrested.
CBU students this afternoon braved, staged and fought a battle with Zambia Police.
Students attempted to breach peace at Copperbelt University main campus as a way of sending a message to government that they are affected by the ongoing fracas between University academics union and the University Vice Chancellor, Professor Naison Ngoma.
This follows a call by Lecturers who are demanding the resignation of the Vice Chancellor and top management.
Last week Students Union Publicity Secretary, Moses Pankalamu Simfukwe issued a statement stating that the Union Executive and the Students council of Representative declared Monday the 29th june 2015 a “Black Monday” in protest for Government through the
Ministry of Education which is the appointing authority to intervene and pass a verdict that will see the start of classes
with immediate effect in the fracas between the VC and the Academic Union for lecturers.
