Dr Evelyn Nguleka has officially been elected President of World Farmers Organization(WFO).
She is the incumbent President of the Zambia National Farmers’ Union (ZNFU).
Dr Nguleka has been at the helm of WFO since the resignation of Mr Peter Kendall in 2014.
As Vice President then, she stepped in as the Acting WFO President immediately after Kendall resigned.
Mr Kendall resigned last year due to conflicting commitments after having also been appointed by the Government of the
United Kingdom as the new Chair of the
Agriculture and Horticulture Development
Board (AHDB).
Dr Nguleka is a veterinary doctor
who practices and offers services in poultry disease diagnosis, treatment, and control.
She is also a small-scale farmer who rears layers of poultry and goats, and pursues
other farming activities.
Dr Nguleka also served as the first Vice-President and Director of Commodities on the Zambia National Farmers’ Union (ZNFU) Board.
She obtained her education from the University of Zambia and holds an
International Diploma in Poultry Husbandry from the IPC Barneveld of The Netherlands.
