NUPPEZ seconds Teaching Commission stance on aptitude tests | WestMac Media

The National Union of Public and Private Educators of Zambia (NUPPEZ), says observations made by the Teaching Service Commission to introduce aptitude tests for teachers before recruitment, are not far from what is obtaining on the ground.

Nuppez Southern Province Coordinator, Christopher Manyepa says there have been concerns over the caliber of teachers deployed to various schools in the Country.

He however notes that his union has not received any official Communication over the aptitude tests.

The Teaching Service Commission recently announced that applicants for the 2018 teacher recruitment will be required to sit for aptitude tests.

The Commission explained that the move is not meant to demean teachers but to improve standards and quality of education in the country.
