His Excellency, Edgar Lungu while on the Copperbelt said government has reserved K1.6million for marketeers in Ndola, Kitwe and Chingola to help them sustain and grow their businesses.
The President added that Government will soon launch micro schemes specifically for marketeers in all provinces.
And National Traders and Marketeers Association of Zambia (NATMAZ) has commended President Lungu for empowering
traders and marketeers with resources.
In a joint statement monitored by WM Media, Goodson Mofya and Chrispin Musunka, NATMAZ president and general secretary respectively said the K1.6million project for three major markets on the
Copperbelt will indeed go a long way in uplifting the living standards for NATMAZ members adding that this will ultimately make significant contributions to economic growth in the country.
NATMAZ has since appealed to President Lungu to consider extending the traders and marketeers empowerment programme to all the 10 provinces as soon as possible so as to sustain businesses of its members.
