Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) has released exam results for July/August 2015 and 196 Lawyers have failed.
Out of 206 student Lawyers who sat for ZIALE exams only 18 passed and admitted to the bar.
In 2013, 200 candidates sat for exams and only 6 passed with another 6 candidates who were repeating after failing.
Last year, a concerned stakeholder George Silonda proposed that ZIALE should come up with specialised courses because it currently has too many courses, making lawyers not to concentrate and ending up failing because the school has too much work.
Meanwhile ZIALE is the only body mandated by laws of Zambia to train and certify practicing lawyers in Zambia. . Out of 206 student Lawyers who sat for ZIALE exams only 18 passed.
