Nkwame Nkrumah University registrar, Gubula Siachiti says the Ministry of Higher Education has declared 83 academic lecturers positions and 38 positions for support staff under the Ministry of General Education jobs vacant.
Addressing members of staff, Mr Siachiti said over 120 members of staff at the university were affected.
This comes after their positions were declared vacant and will be advertised soon.
Mr Siachiti said all affected members of staff will have to apply for their positions once advertised.
Lectures and management at the institution are engaged in standoff which led to the indefinite closure of the institution on Monday 12th February, 2018.
Meanwhile, government placed Nkrumah University under the management Mulungushi University last year but the move seem to have angered the academicians who have argued that the decision was irrational because Nkrumah had the qualified personnel to run it as an independent University.
