UNZA student bashed, dies

The University of Zambia (UNZA) community has lost yet another future leader in a tragedy incident not long after another student (Brian Makondo) died. 

A student only identified as Veronica Ng'ambi died on the spot after she was hit by a speeding vehicle on Saturday night. 

Choma youths shocks YWCA

Southern Province Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) regional coordinator Eric Sakala has expressed concern over the behavior exhibited by some youths in Choma on Christmas Day. 

Mr. Sakala said it was heartbreaking to see youths, engaging in immoral activities that only destroy their lives.

Mansa clergyman urge youths to be responsible

A clergyman in Mansa has appealed to youths country-wide to behave responsibly during the festive season to avoid ruining their lives reports Zambia Daily Mail. 

Assemblies of Saints Church, Chakopo congregation pastor Chilufya Kandama said youths are most vulnerable to vices during this time as they lack discernment in whatever they do.

Sata's daughter weds

Stella Sata, 21, tied the marriage knot with a seasoned entrepreneur, Simba Rukayi on Saturday.

Copperbelt University Student Union (COBUSU) says it is disappointed with the manner the Patriotic Front (PF) Government is running public Universities, the Copperbelt University (CBU) in particular.

CBU students are wondering why it has become a tendency or norm for government to pay or attend to students calls or challenges after demonstrations or protests.

“Why is it so difficult to source funds for students allowances and so easy for by-elections?” students wondered.

Govt to relocate vendors

Speaking on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Sunday Interview programme, Minister of Local Government and Housing, Stephen Kampyongo said once the ministry is done done with the relocation process in Lusaka and Copperbelt, a similar process will be done in Livingstone.

MUCE student commits suicide behind girlfriend's house

A Mufulira College of Education (MUCE) student only identified as Thomas Sisale committed suicide on Friday after girlfriend disappointed him. 

Sisale is reported to have killed himself in the early hours of Friday behind the girlfriend's house in Kamuchanga.

“Yes Mutinta, how are you?” Mr. Tembo greeted me once more. 

‘I am ok, how are you too?' I replied.

“How much is the taxi fare?” he asked. 

‘He charged me K30 but after we went past the other guest house, he added a K20, so it’s K50,” I narrated to Mr. Tembo. 

“Ok. Here you are, give him,” Mr. Tembo gave the money to give a Taxi driver. 

He bought some condoms at the reception as we proceeded to a room he booked. However, I resisted going into a room but eventually accepted and entered.

Zambian girl breaks record, becomes 'Pilot' at the age of 18

A Kitwe based girl excites Zambians for becoming a pilot at a tender age. 

History shows that she becomes the youngest trained female Zambian pilot posing a challenge to a male counterpart Kalenga Kamwendo who also became a star this year after his career story broke out on social media. 

Kalenga became a pilot at the age of 20-years and was named youngest Zambian pilot. 

Introduction of uniforms for teachers just a rumor - Govt

APPLY: Romanian Government Scholarships for Foreign Students in Romania

Applications are invited for Romanian Government scholarships available for citizens of non EU countries. Up to 85 scholarships are awarded for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Romania. The monthly amount is granted to the students of the 1st (licenta) and 2nd (master) cycle throughout the whole academic year, the winter and spring vacation included, but not during the summer vacation. For full-time students of the 3rd cycle (doctorate), the monthly amount is granted throughout the whole calendar year.

Let’s just talk about our life experiences. I guess its high time time we started to know each other well,” Mulenga suggested. 

‘Well, if you say so, I can’t force you. Moreover, I shouldn’t have come out so direct about the kiss thing. Hope taumbwenenemo (you’ve not looked down on me). Have you? I don’t know what came over me anyway. Bear with me, I guess it’s normal,’ I said.

50 Mulungushi students to miss final exams

Mulungushi University Vice Chancellor Hellicy Ng’ambi confirms that some students have been blocked to write their final exams.
Mulungushi University officials blocked the students from writing examinations because they had failed to pay tuition fees and they also owed the institution various sums of money in fee arrears.

High electricity tariffs cause 200 job losses in Kabwe

A manganese processing company, “Ferro Alloys” in Kabwe has laid off 200 workers due to high electricity tariffs. 

According to a statement issued by Company Commercial Executive Katimba Chisanga, Ferro Alloys will be put under care and maintenance as it cannot contain increment of over 200 percent in electricity tariffs.

We had a fruitful chat; we discussed so many issues including current affairs, school, employment challenges and relationships. This was really a great time after so many years of seeing Rebecca. 

‘You know what Rebecca, me I am fading up of this life of being single, it’s high time I got a boyfriend,’ I said to Rebecca.

Demand for FDD farmers start-up grant multiplies

310, 230 Grade 7 pupils selected to Grade 8

General Education Minister John Phiri has announced that a total of 310, 230 grade 7 pupils have been selected to grade 8 out of 344, 516 that sat for the 2015 Exams. 

Out of the 310, 230 candidates selected, 155, 878 are boys while 154, 352 are girls representing a progression rate of 88.35 percent and 91.83 percent respectively.
