Two of the Zambian music heavy weights Macky 2 and Slap Dee battled it out yesterday in Lusaka at Hollywood City.
Mwila Musonda stage name Slap Dee and Mark Mulaza Kaira alias Macky 2 are longtime music rivals and both claim to be Kings of Zambian hip hop.
For there can only be one King at a time, the dual met on Christmas eve and performed live at the first ever hip hop contest where Slap Dee emerged King of hip hop.
On their facebook pages before the contest Macky 2 posted “there can only be on King. This Christmas you have a chance to decide. Anyone can run their mouth.. It's time to see who can really back it up. Nowhere to run now! Let's get it over with.”
And after the contest he posted pictures and captioned them as “and that's how we brought the house down. At their home ground, wachimo kumwesu. Talk and do.”
Whereas Slap Dee before the contest posted “you already know!The throne is taken. There is only one crown. 'King Dizo' finish them.”
And after the contest he posted “never mess with the King again. Crown stays within the burg. Shout out Kopala for attempting.”
