If readily available resources are put to good use, Zambia could develop | WestMac Media

By Ezra Mwansa
While we wait for the budgets to be financed by international agencies, its cardinal to remember that we have solutions around us.

We are blessed to have termites that help make clay soil; look at how people that lived before us used this resource.

What have we got now as Africans that we can show our ancestors that we are able to make? Is the knowledge of using available resources being passed on or has it been replaced with classrooms where people are inculcated with the desire to have a white collar job?

Even if we embrace the same education that proves to be part of the mental enslavement of people and teach us different history, schools in rural areas will still be considered foundation for the future but remain undeveloped.

We have schools in rural areas but we have failed to strategically use forest timber to furnish them with desks and/or even shelter.

Its sad to note that priority is centred around Mukula logs which are auctioned secretly and the people in areas where it comes from have to walk long distances to find a school. It's expensive to get an education in this situation.
