A Kitwe based girl excites Zambians for becoming a pilot at a tender age.
History shows that she becomes the youngest trained female Zambian pilot posing a challenge to a male counterpart Kalenga Kamwendo who also became a star this year after his career story broke out on social media.
Kalenga became a pilot at the age of 20-years and was named youngest Zambian pilot.
A former pupil of Helen Kaunda Girls Secondary School in Kitwe at a time when most young people would want to learn how to drive vehicles, Makungu has learnt how to fly an aircraft.
Against all odds and at a tender age of just 18-years, Makungu Mulando has completed her aviation training in South Africa at “Algoa Flying Club”.
Speaking when she arrived at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport in Ndola on Wednesday, Makungu said it is by the grace of God that she managed to complete her aviation training with flying colours adding that it was not an easy journey.
Makungu says she intends to further her studies and get a 'Commercial Pilot License' (CPL) as soon as resources are available.
She urged youths to pursue a course that they are passionate about.
Meanwhile, Makungu's parents said they are proud for their daughters achievement.
Mr. and Mrs. Mulando have since appealed to well wishers to consider sponsoring their daughter to get a CPL.
