The Secretary to the Bursaries Commitee, in the Ministry of Education has confirmed the death of an undergraduate student studying in Algeria.
Expressing grief in a statement monitored by WM Media Pty. Ltd, Mrs Chirwa says as a mother her heart bleeds to learn the death of Mumbi.
“As a mother, my heart bleeds as we mourn Bernard, a student in Algeria. Full of life. Lord strengthen his mother and the rest of the family. This is not an easy journey but we will have to walk it.” she says.
Bernard Mumbi who was studying French in Algeriawas discovered dead after he went missing for Eight days.
Mumbi was a first year student went missing on February, 22nd 2015 and was discovered dead today at a
hospital in Algiers.
His brother Nyunga Mumbi says Bernard got sick and decided to go to Algiers city where his brother stays but he never reached.
Meanwhile, students studying in Algeria have appealed to the Zambian government to put a Zambian embassy in Algeria and look into their needs.
