His Excellency President Hage Gottfried Geingob the newly elected Republican President of Namibia has officially taken over as Head of State and Commander-In-Chief.
Mr Geingob has taken over Presidency from His Excellency Hifikepunye Pohamba. He becomes the third President of Namibia.
Thousands upon thousands of Namibians and foreign guests braved heavy rainfall, as they streamed into the Independence Stadium to celebrate 25 years of freedom and the inaugaration of the country's third Head of State Hage Geingob. Many in the crowd described the rainfall as showers of blessing from God on Namibia's special day. Pride and patriotism is sweeping through the stadium, and indeed across the Land of the Brave.
President Uhuru Kenyatta from Kenya, His Excellency President of Zambia, Edgar Lungu were among several Heads of State and Government who witnessed the colourful ceremony celebrated
alongside the inauguration of Namibia’s third democratically elected
President, Hage Geingob.
President Lungu led powerful delegation comprising Zambia's first Republican
President Kenneth Kaunda and fourth Republican President, Rupiah
Banda.
