It's official, the South African comedian (Trevor Noah) just
scored a new job to host one of the biggest late night T.V
shows in the U.S television ('The Daily Show').
31-year-old South African Trevor Noah
will replace Jon Stewart as the host of The
Daily Show, according to a New York
Times article.
“I’m thrilled for the show and for Trevor,” Mr. Stewart said in
a statement. “He’s a tremendous comic and talent that we’ve
loved working with.” Mr. Stewart added that he “may rejoin
as a correspondent just to be a part of it!!!”.
Mr. Noah, who spoke to the Times via telephone said of his
appointment: “You don’t believe it for the first few hours,”
Mr. Noah said of learning about his new job. “You need a
stiff drink, and then unfortunately you’re in a place where
you can’t really get alcohol.”
Mr. Noah did not formally audition for the job, outside of
being a contributor on The Daily Show.
