Bwembya says he so humbled to learn that he has been selected for 2015 Mandela Fellowship.
“For me, going to America will not be a 'honeymoon' but an opportunity to learn a lot of things that I will use for the betterment of Mother Zambia,” he says.
As a social, gender activist, Bwembya says
he hopes to learn a lot from other young leaders.
“And as a musician, I will use President Obama's programme to network with other American and African musicians and
other role models so as to tap into their experiences and skills. When I come back to Africa, it will be all about action and
developmental projects, better leadership and more socially conscious music. Days of talking without action are long gone, that's why I always do what I talk about,” he says.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship is a program organized by young african leaders initiative (YALI) .The fellowship is designed for young African leaders who are groomed to become better civic leaders and entrepreneurs. They learn more about democracy, governance, human rights and leadership development. Fellows also become members of the Young African Leaders network.
