The crash happened in Kabwe this afternoon.

A Kitwe resident and eye witness Richard Bweupe has also confirmed that a similar accident happened in Kitwe today (yesterday).

“The driver of a fuel tanker tried to beat the train at the railway crossing unfortunately for him the train hit into the tanker and there was a scramble for diesel,” he said.

In both accidents, no life was lost.

Meanwhile, a similar accident happened at Kasangula road railway crossing in Lusaka, last year. In this case, a tax driver was driving across the rail line with his windows closed and playing music.

Suddenly he just heard a bang and in a second realized that his car was flying into a maize field.

RTSA has since cautioned drivers to always pay attention and be road smart on the road.
