President
Lungu’s daughter, Tasila, urged the pupils to concentrate on education and
avoid early marriages, if they were to contribute to any meaningful development
to Zambia, as a country.
She
said this when she donated 200 school shoes to vulnerable school going children
in Lundazi district of the Eastern Province, worth thousands of Kwacha.
ZANIS
in Lundazi District reports that Tasila said she decided to donate the shoes to
the pupils to motivate and encourage them to continue with their education.
The
donation was held at Department of Community Development and Social Services in
Lundazi District yesterday.
In
a vote of thanks by one of the beneficiary pupil, Purity Banda, grade 5 from
Lundazi Primary School said the donation will go a long way to help and
motivate the beneficiaries most of whom attend school barefooted.
And
Lundazi District Commissioner [DC] Janet Palukani has commended Tasila for
taking time off from her busy schedule to donate 200 shoes of various sizes to
200 poor and vulnerable school going pupils.
Whilst
in Lundazi District, the Republican President’s daughter paid courtesy call on
Chief Mphamba of the Tumbuka speaking people.
She
also visited Mphamba School where she mingled, interacted with pupils where she
encouraged them to continue with school before leaving for Chama District in
Muchinga Province for similar assignment.
The
vulnerable pupils came from different schools within Lundazi District among the
schools whose pupils benefited were Lundazi Township,Chiwe,
Chipembere,Kaithinde,Matembe, Muchereka, ,Phikamalaza,Lukwizizi and Nyalubanga
