The Siamese twins who were admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) have died.
And UTH public relations manager Mwenya Mulenga has confirmed the death of the twins.
The babies shared one naval and their sexes were yet to be determined, lay consciously in the hospital bed in the intensive care unit.
Choma woman, Christina Moono - a mother of seven, who already has a set of able bodied twins, last week gave
birth to another set of twins in Choma district though conjoined at the bottom and were referred to the highest health institution in Lusaka said when she saw that her children were attached to one another, she was scared, confused and started crying.
“I thought of how I would manage to take care of them,” she sadly narrated.
As she narrated the ‘ordeal’ of the babies’ birth and their subsequent transfer to the country’s biggest referral hospital, UTH, Mrs Moono said she wanted to name them Chipego and Choolwe.
And Lasford Munsaka, the father of the twins said seeing joined babies was strange for him, but he accepted the situation.
Despite loosing her Children, Mrs Moono has expressed faith in the abilities of Zambian doctors, much as she has in God, who blessed her with the twins joined at the abdomen.
