ZAMTEL committed to supporting talented young people

Zambia Telecommunication (ZAMTEL) company through its corporate social responsibility programme is committed to supporting talented young people says Evans Muhanga. 

Mr. Muhanga who is ZAMTEL Chief Marketing Officer said this when handing over a cheque worth K240, 000 to Zambia Squash Association (ZSA) for its Junior Development Programme.

Zambia adopted to host 'African Union Girls Summit'

Prof. Luo says the summit will take place in Lusaka from November 26 to 27, 2015.

GBV ambassador insults, assaults a 32-year-old woman

A gender based violence ambassador, General Kanene, real names Clifford Dimba has assaulted a 32-year-old woman of Lusaka’s Chawama compound in Lusaka. 

Kanene who was recently accused of beating up Sharon Ngandula, his wife after she allegedly refused to have sex with him has savagely beaten up another woman leaving her with a swollen face, black eye and general body pains according to the medical report.

A youthful and satirical Pilato, real names Fumba Chama has allegedly been identified as Whitney's husband. In a statement monitored by WM Media Pty. Ltd, Pilato says a lady identified as Whitney Phanor is not his wife adding that he is equally disturbed and gravely shocked by her actions.

Govt decision on poultry excites MMD Youths, PSDA

CBU students protest, infuriates police

100,000 jobs to be created through diversification says Mwanakatwe

11 Grade 7 pupils arrested for organizing a beer-drinking party after exams

Eleven Grade seven pupils of Chililabombwe have been arrested for organizing an illegal beer-drinking party after finishing their final examinations. 

The pupils converged on Konkola Copper Mines dam, a restricted place, where they allegedly indulged in excessive beer drinking soon after finishing their final Grade 7 examinations. 

Josephine rescue girls from 'female circumcision'

Josephine Kulea and her Samburu Girls Foundation rescue Kenyan girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage, reports CNN. 

 o these girls, and some 200 others across Kenya, Kulea is "Mama Kulea." 

When their families refuse to have anything more to do with them, she takes the place of their mothers. 

Siamese twins admitted to UTH dies

The Siamese twins who were admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) have died. 

And UTH public relations manager Mwenya Mulenga has confirmed the death of the twins. 

The babies shared one naval and their sexes were yet to be determined, lay consciously in the hospital bed in the intensive care unit.

Zimbabwean student in court for modelling without underwear

A Zimbabwean college student who allegedly took part in a modelling contest without any underwear has appeared in court in the capital Harare, state media reported on Tuesday. 

Panashe Zhaware, 21, is alleged to have walked the ramp in a full-length fuchsia pink dress with a revealing split all the way up the front. 

Photos surfaced this week of the Harare Polytechnic student at the event, which was apparently held at the end of last term in July.

The official Herald newspaper said that Zhaware "intentionally wore her evening gown without her undergarments". 

"It is the state's case that the incident was captured on camera," the Herald said. 

The student has been charged with public indecency and was granted $100 bail at a court appearance on Monday.

Youth are sick and tired of recycled (wamuyayaya) political leaders who have nothing to offer the country, says Youth in Action for Sustainable Development (YASD) programmes manager Zebedy Lukwesa. 

Mr Lukwesa immediately challenged all opposition political parties to emulate the example set by President Edgar Lungu.

Govt pledges to promote ICTs

Vice President Inonge Wina says government remains resolute in the promotion of Information Communication Technologies, ICTs, in line with the Vision 2030. 

Mrs Wina says the use of ICTs must be fully adopted across all sectors of the economy. 

ZNBC reports that the Vice President said this in Lusaka , at the ICT Business Forum, in a speech read for her by Transport, Works, Supply and Communications minister Yamfwa Mukanga.

Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader is driven by hate forces and that is why she is inciting people to shun the day of national prayers and fasting because she does not believe that God can hear prayers, the Gallant Youth of Zambia (GYZ) has charged.

Judy Siyambango was last night revealed as Zambia’s most promising entrepreneur and received the K250,000 first prize at a glittering grand finale attended by Vice President Hon.
