Applications are invited from suitably qualified Zambian nationals that meet the minimum requirements outlined here below to contest for Twenty (20) scholarships under the Horizon Education Trust Scholarship Scheme for the 2015/2016 Academic Year.
Available are Bachelor of Science with Education programmes majoring in: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Studies or General Sciences
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants should:
»Be Zambian citizens with Green National Registration Cards (NRC)
» Be School Leavers who completed Grade 12 in 2012, 2013 and 2014
» Have at least Three (3) distinctions that must include the subject relevant to the intended course of study
» Be maximum age 21 years by 31st December 2015
CONDITIONS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Candidates should meet own cost towards:
(i) Expenses to and from the Airport
(ii) Language course for one academic year
(iii) Study permit
(iv) SAT examinations
(v) Visa to Turkey
(vi) Medical insurance while in Turkey
(vii) Any short fall not adequately covered by the scholarship
This is dependent on the programme to be pursued, however, all include 1 year of Turkish language which is done before commencement of the main programme.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Applicants should submit:
» An application letter responding to the advert, clearly stating the field of study desired, age, day-time phone number and
e-mail address for easy communication;
» Curriculum Vitae, Certified Photocopies of Educational Certificates, Transcript/Statement of results, NRC, eight (8)
colour passport size photos and colour photo copy of pages 2 and 3 of the passport;
» A study plan or synopsis of summarized details of the preferred course and how the intended course of study will enhance one’s contribution to Zambia’s development (200 words)
» It is a requirement by the host country that all nominated candidates undergo comprehensive medical examinations
including the HIV test.
Nominated candidates must note that last-minute withdrawals will attract serious sanctions from the Committee which may include being blacklisted.
