The Innovation Prize for Africa (IPA) 2015 is open for applications. This
is USD150,000 cash plus other technical support and media exposure
support for the continent’s brightest innovetors to accelerate Africa’s
development.
Priority Areas
1. Agriculture/Agribusiness
2. Environment, Energy and Water
3. Health and Wellbeing
4. Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs)
5. Manufacturing and Service Industry
Interested applicants with innovation in different thematic area should
contact the organizers.
Prizes
1. First Prize – USD100,000 to the innovator with the overall best
innovation that meets all the above mentioned IPA criteria with clear
business potential
2. Second Prize – USD25,000 – to innovator with a commercially
driven innovation
3. Special Prize for Social Impact Innovation – USD25,000 – to the
innovation with best social impact after judging on its social impact
in the community/country
4. Face-to-face interviews of Top-Ten Finalists
5. Certificate to all the finalists
6. Up to USD5,000 post-prize technical support to each finalists to
assist in moving the innovation to the next step.
7. Media coverage and additional support might also be mobilized for
the finalists.
Eligibility Criteria
-Applicants must be the citizen of an African nation.
-All applicants are required to declare who is the owner of the innovation.
Failure to disclose ownership may lead to disqualification.
