Take advantage of my office, Luanshya youths told

Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda has reiterated his call on youths to take advantage of his office. 

“Let me take this opportunity to encourage our youths in Luanshya to take advantage of our office and that of President Lungu. This office is so open and could love to see a lot of youths coming forth to give us ideas and seek for help,” he said. 

Mr Chanda said Luanshya has a lot of youthful human resource which should be used to develop the district. 

“It is for this reason that we will keep our open door policy for the youth. It is not right only to see almost same people from urban areas coming to our office but even Youths from the pre-urban part of Luanshya like Chilabula, Kamishishi, Ngombe, Chisokone, Munachonga, Miputu, Kampelembe and other surrounding area are also most welcome because all of you voted for us. We have a duty to ensure that we help our fellow youths were necessary in many areas of national development. We can't fully develop when we leave out our youths,” he said. 

He said youths are the greatest resource that we have as a country. 

“I therefore call on youths regardless of your groupings to come on board and work with us. Stand up and be counted, think out side the box,” the Mayor said.

Speaking at Chilabula Catholic Church in the outskirts of Roan Constituency, Mr Chanda thanked the people and also asked the Church to pray for the elected leaders. 

“Without you people, we can't be in these offices. So pray for us. Pray for President Edgar Lungu so that Our Lord Jesus Christ can give us the wisdom to lead his people. Without you we can't be leaders,” he stated. 

The Mayor also pleaged to help the Church put up its roof. 

“The Church has no roof, no floor; making congregants worship in the sun and sitting on the dust. This, we will help and ensure that we bring engineers who will access the type of roof to be put. We need to support the work of God. The Luanshya Mayor was in company of the Youths from Sacred Heart Parish and Father Mulwuki,” Mr Chanda said.
