Youth Development Funds (YDF) are loans given to youth aged between 18 and 35 that are engaged or would like to venture in entrepreneurial activities for a profit.
The funds are disbursed by Ministry of Youths and Sports. These youth need to have; registered businesses wither with PACRA; register of Cooperative or any other recognized registration; a viable project with potential for job creation presented in a brief and simple description Green National Registration Card; a Guarantor from Community Leaders among them the Clergy, Senior Government Officials, Civic Leaders and Traditional Leaders.
Grants are accessible by registered organizations that are implementing Youth empowerment programmes such as
skills development, capacity building, advocacy and many other such programmes.
The funds are meant for both for profit and non profit making organisations. They include organizations such as the Girl Guides Association of Zambia, The Young Women Christian Association, among others.
