ActionAid Zambia is pleased to announce the call for proposals under the SIDA supported Strengthening Civil Society Effectiveness in Promoting Good Governance and
Increasing Citizen’s Awareness and Demand for Human
Rights in Zambia project for Local CSOs in Zambia.
The average contribution is expected to be in the range of
ZMW 5,000- ZMW1,000,000 per project per year. Larger
projects may be considered on an exceptional basis.
The
average duration of a project is 3 months up to 3 years, with
all project activities to be completed by October 31, 2021.
I. Eligibility Criteria
• Please note that most of funding is to be
directed toward local civil society organizations (including
non-governmental organizations, social movements and
individual defenders of human rights) and other institutions
working at the local level.
• Project proposals with national
reach will be eligible for the call where relevant.
• Please
note that infrastructure projects will not be considered
under this call.
• The call is always looking to fund innovative
projects which deliver measurable results.

II. Thematic priorities
The
Fund will grant applications in the areas that address
identified needs of the target areas that fall within one or
more of the priorities listed below;
• Enhance citizens’ civic participation and state accountability
for improved governance and public service delivery in
Zambia.
• Promote transparency and accountability in public finance
management and institutional governance systems.
• Strengthen the capacities of citizens in holding government
accountable on the enforcement of policies and regulations
for sustainable Natural Resource (NR) management and
climate justice.
• Strengthen the capacity of citizens to demand for improved
policies and programmes that promote inclusiveness and
accessibility to health services.
III. Gender Based Analysis
In
line with the efforts to advance gender equality and the
empowerment of women and girls, each applicant is
required to show gender mainstreaming as part of their
application.
IV. How to apply
• Complete the project application and
budget forms with necessary details about project activities
and spending. Note that only complete applications will be
considered.
All applications must be submitted by end of day Friday
September 28, 2018, to the Email: Grants.Zambia@actionaid.org.
Applications received after the deadlines will
not be considered.
