The United Nations Resident Coordinator Janet Rogan has
expressed happiness and satisfaction with the level of
training and skills development at the Northern Technical
College in Ndola.
What stole the moment of her visit was the involvement of
women in industrial engineering related programmes which
are highly dominated by men.
She later toured the various
training facilities at the Ndola based technical college to the
delight of staff and students.
Before ending her 4-hour tour of the campus, Ms. Rogan
gave a motivational and insightful talk with the female
students whom she encouraged to keep up with the good
works and push for a better Zambia where equal pay for
equal work is paramount.
She highlighted that Women are part industrialization and
diversification of Zambia’s economy which have been clearly
outlined in the 7th National Development Plan.
Ms. Rogan was welcomed by the institutions principal Mr.
Victor Mulenga who regarded her visit as memorable.
The
Resident Coordinator is in Ndola to attend the 54th Zambia
International Trade Fair which will be officially opened
tomorrow under the theme "Private Sector - Key to Industrialisation".
