A two day training organized by BongoHive at the Copperbelt University was described a success and extraordinary by students.
The event was officially opened by the Copperbelt University, School of Business Dean, Dr Maliti who said in his opening remarks that Copperbelt University was geared to support programmes like Idea2Prototype.
BongoHive Idea2Prototype event held at the Copperbelt University for two days attracted close to 60 students from all faculties of the University.
Students with brilliant ideas were made to form groups and pitch their ideas. To this end, ten groups pitched their ideas and five emerged as Winners and their ideas are scheduled to be transformed from ideas to prototype.
Idea2Prototype basically is a design thinking a process, applicable to all walks of life, of creating new and innovative ideas and solving problems. The Idea2Prototype (i2p) Day teaches the design thinking process by enabling participants to tackle local innovation challenges through a structured yet creative approach.
The ideas which emerged winners and scheduled to be sponsored include Amakwebo, Tidyeko, Smart e-Mark, Afro Mobile and Mobile Salon.
The Copperbelt University entrepreneurship centre representative hailed the event.
The event was supported by Embassy of Sweden, Copperbelt University and
Asikana Network.The event also attracted notable speakers and coaches.
The all programme for the event was facilitated by Lukonga Lindunda a Co-Founder and Executive Director at
BongHive and Asikana Network was represented by Muyoya Chisenga a Co-Founder.
