Deputy Minister of Commerce, Miles Sampa, who is also Member of parliament for Matero proposed a solution to address short of bursaries. The formation of a Student Trust Bank, a financial
institution which will hold funds for and on behalf of current and future first year
students.
He has challenged all former University of Zambia (UNZA) or Copperbelt University (CBU) former students or graduates to consider depositing K100,000 into this bank right away, in the near future or when able. Among other leaders who are former UNZA students that could pay K100,000 each and raise a total of K1,000,000 into this proposed Student Trust Bank so it opened immediately to the urgently address the student needs out there include Dr Tukiya Mabula Kankasa - Deputy Governor BOZ, President Mike Mulongoti, President Edith Nawakwi, President Hakainde Hichilema, Dr Patrick Matibini - The Speaker, Mr Musa Mwenye -Attorney General, Mr Mutembo Nchito-DPP, Dr J.Ngwati Phiri - Education Minister to mention a few.
