What is a Youth Ambassador?
As a World Vision Youth Ambassador, you will have the chance to
champion your vision for a more just world. You will lead your peers and
the wider community in pursuing true global citizenship.
As a Youth Ambassador, you will motivate and inspire other Australians
to ensure no child goes without their basic rights to food, water,
protection, education and healthcare. We are seeking 17-24 year olds who
are passionate about galvanising the Australian community to eliminate
extreme poverty and its causes.
As part of the program, you will travel overseas in early 2015 to meet and
learn from children, families and communities who live with the daily
reality of poverty and injustice. On return, you will share your
experiences in schools, churches, universities, on social media and
elsewhere to empower others to make a difference.
What will you gain from being a Youth Ambassador?
You will face new challenges and have the chance to develop new skills
and capabilities. From November 2014, Youth Ambassadors will:
-develop skills in public speaking, creative storytelling, media and
communications, and advocacy
attend a kick-off summit
-develop a community impact plan to influence Australian hearts and
minds
receive mentoring and coaching from World Vision staff
-travel overseas to see World Vision’s work first hand
-influence Australians, particularly young people, through talks,
workshops, and social and mainstream media
-learn about World Vision’s development, advocacy and humanitarian
emergency work
join and learn from our esteemed Youth Ambassador alumni
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking applicants who:
-will be aged between 17 and 24 on 1 January 2015
-enjoy meeting people and sharing what stirs them
-get excited by creative and innovative ideas
-are keen to learn new skills and challenge themselves
-have demonstrated leadership for a cause they
-are passionate about
are genuinely interested in issues of global poverty and injustice and
want to see change in the world
What is the time commitment?
Being a Youth Ambassador is a voluntary role that extends over 12
months.
You should expect to commit three to seven hours a week over the course
of the year. During peak activity times (summits, overseas trips and
speaking commitments), this may increase. We will support you in
finding the right, healthy balance.

-Upload a letter of support from someone who knows and has seen your
passion for eradicating poverty and injustice (not immediate family).
