Two females Zambians, Muzalema Maria Mwanza and Godfridah Masaiti have scooped two FemBioBiz regional finalist places at the South Africa Innovation Summit currently taking place in Cape Town.
Ms Mwanza, a Bioentrepreneur put forward her 'Safe Motherhood' Innovation providing sterilized affordable baby delivery kits containing essential supplies a woman requires at child birth to ensure she has a clean, safe and hygienic delivery.
And Ms Masaiti, a pharmacy student at the University of Zambia School of Medicine scooped the student category with her product that delivers anti retroviral drugs through a transdermal patch.
The duo will represent Zambia at SLUSH, Europe's biggest startup competition being held in Finland this year.
FemBioBiz Acceleration program attracted 32 participants from 8 SADC countries.
