Miles dumps PF

Former commerce deputy minister Miles Sampa has resigned from the Patriotic Front (PF) effective 21st January 2016. 

He alleges that his decision came about as a result of the intolerance, hate, vengeance and violent conduct towards patriotic front party members; including those who supported him at the Kabwe convention in 2014. 

Mr. Sampa says as a firm believer of peace and democracy, he feels a number of people were not and have not been accorded the right to express themselves freely in PF and that in itself has created disharmony from within adding that his efforts to unite the party have proved futile last 12 months. 

Mr. Sampa who is also Matero Member of Parliament says the current PF in looks and conduct reminds him of the MMD of 2011 that instilled fear in the general public. 

“I choose to disassociate myself from such a grouping and wish them well,” he says. 

Mr. Sampa assures Matero people that there will be no by-Election in Matero as a result of his resignation. 

“The new constitution effectively implies that I will be with you to finish off all the pending projects and programmes until the general elections,” he says.

Mr. Sampa has since said he will hold a press conference tomorrow where he will be issuing a comprehensive statement. Meanwhile, 

Mr. Sampa's decision comes a day after PF media committee chairman Frank Bwalya said Mr. Sampa is not among party officials mandated to undertake party mobilization activities around the country. 

Mr. Bwalya added that Mr Sampa should confine his party mobilization activities to his constituency.
