The Ministry of Health has started piloting a new male circumcision type called 'shangring'.
The Chinese-invented new type does not involve the physical cutting of the foreskin or an injection for anesthesia.
Lusaka Province Voluntary Male Medical Circumcision Lead Program Officer Emmanuel Mwamba says shangring is better than the old method because it’s fast and painless.
Mr. Mwamba has told ZNBC News at the ongoing 94th Agriculture and Commercial Show in Lusaka that the Ministry has deployed a truck at the Showgrounds where shangring services are being offered.
He said the response so far has been impressive from show goers.
